About us

Ronald Hoekstra, the founder of CSI-Fresh B.V., worked at Dutch Customs before making the switch to a major tax consultancy firm. In addition, working as a Manager of Global Trade Compliance at various multinationals brought the experience and knowledge needed to found Customs Solutions & Improvements B.V. in 2008.

This company specializes in giving customs advice in the broadest sense of the word. Over the years, Customs Solutions & Improvements B.V. has grown into a well-known customs consultancy firm in the fruit and vegetable industry. 

From the point of view that customs and logistics are in line with each other, Ronald founded Container Service Intermediary B.V. in 2014 as a logistics service provider. 

In order to be able to serve our clients even better and to be able to offer a complete service, CSI-Fresh B.V. has been added to the group of companies as a customs broker in July 2014. This company focuses on the preparation and handling of customs documentation.

Brexit

Since 2021 border controls are in place between the European Union and the United Kingdom.  As a result  importers and exporters need customs documents, certificates, and permits, when shipping their products.  CSI-Fresh B.V. can assist with and advise on all customs related issues.

Brexit

On January 1st 2021, the transition period ended, and the United Kingdom has officially left the European Union. Just in time, the European Union and the United Kingdom came to a Free Trade Agreement, which is now in place.

The new relationship between the two has changed how companies on both sides of the English Channel do business. Border controls are now in place, and importers and exporters need customs documents, certificates, and permits. Those were not necessary before.

Together with our UK partners we can assist with and advise on all customs related issues.
